notes from the mid-summer garden
in our garden, this summer, you can find:
~ the wild strawberries, which grew successfully on our third floor balcony already and still delight us with little treats every day
~ a mixture of old and new. new is the apple tree which we planted in may...
~ ...new stone signs the little man made, for the potatoes, and for the chives, that have been growing and thriving here for years and years
~ a bean teepee! unfortunately the first few leaves were eaten up by ants (not so artsy, i dare say), but with some extra care i'm sure it'll at least be a teepee of sorts
~ the blackberry bushes that are looking very promising again this year
~ zucchini plants that i started on the window sill and are now on their first step outside. they are meant to be planted into...
~ these raised beds, which are empty to date. our vacation in may and a case of bronchitis somehow got in the way. except for planting the zucchini i plan to sow some winter salads in there.
~ two other new additions: wisteria and lavender on the terrace
~ lots of beauty that reappears and multiplies every year (pictured here: hollyhocks and poppies)
~ signs of little helpers everywhere
what's going on in your garden??

Your garden is so lush and beautiful! I'm slightly envious of the Wisteria. It's very hard to grow here. Have a good weekend.
your garden is gorgeous, love the new raised beds, I am planing to set up one or two more for next year too (if I find the time)
i'm growing weeds this year with great success!! :)
besides that i've got herbs and a few flowers, that's it.
These pictures are so appealing - I know the garden is too :) We are in Winter so there are a few camellias around but not much else. I think it's a good time to plant a tree or two...
