you might remember the space above from a previous post. (we kept the wagon, of course. it is the subject of one of our next projects, that needs some more work to it). i have always loved that space infront of the house, which the little man referred to as his "house" to playmates already before we set anything up.
the kids play behind the house as well, on the swings and in their little corner with the sandbox and toys. but this is the part of the garden that i have a view of when working in the kitchen or sitting in the living room. i like the idea of there being several special spots around the house that they can choose to play in.
so on one of the sunny days that we had last week, we made an "entrance" with some poles and rolled two tree stumps that we still had in the shed into the "woods". one is a table, the other is the kitchen. a few overturned pots soon became stools. i still had painted pots from another project, and we added a few spoons, pieces of wood, seashells, chestnuts and hazelnuts to the kitchen.
as you can see above, it's even a "drive-thru"-house! it was so quick and simple to set up, but turned out into such a cute and cozy little hideaway that i'm envisioning a lot of creative play in this space in the months and years to come!

this is so cool! i've also always loved that spot. it's so cute how junebug got busy in the kitchen right away :)
that is such a sweet secluded spot for imagination! As a child, I had a spot under a pine tree for mud pie making and all sorts of baking!
What a great place to play.
PS-m I signed up!
