fleeting moments of spectacular sights

a few weeks ago we saw such a spectacular sunset that we had to slow down and turn into a subdivision in an attempt to capture some of the awe-inspiring beauty of the event.
it all started out with pink clouds that looked like cotton candy. would you believe me if i told you i cold almost taste their fluffy, stringy sweetness?

it all ended in a highly dramatic showdown of bright pink and glowing orange.

these photos give you an idea of how it really looked like, i didn't doctor any of the colors. i was thinking about how unfortunate it is that such sunsets disappear in so little time, within minutes it's all gone without a trace. but perhaps the fleeting nature of such spectacular sights is just what makes them so special.

Oh dear Simona, I am so glad you were able to capture those sunsets; I had the same scenes here, but didn't have my camera.
Masterpieces in the sky!

Stunning!

I think the whole idea Mother Nature has in regards to how fast these beautiful sunsets (and other nature things disappear) is a lesson in slowing down and being in the present moment. So important yet often forgotten today.

So glad you had the opportunity to see it and enjoy the moment :)
