diy: the menue board

when i visited my friend nike a few months ago, i wasn't only inspired by the awesome art in her home, but also by the many bits of blackboard she has, many of them with inspirational quotes. i've always wanted a menue board in the kitchen, for little messages and greetings and to make a bit of a show about dinner plans :-P so last week i spraypainted an ikea frame i had no use for and covered the back part (which became the front) with self-adhevsive blackboard foil. it works brilliantly! probably for a larger area the paint makes more sense, but for boards etc the foil works just fine!

I bought some paint to do the same thing and then forgot all about it! Thanks for the reminder so I can finish another project on my list. xx

that's such a cool idea, making your own blackboard! i've never tried it even though i LOVE them - maybe my next project ...?

The blackboard is "smashing". Well, and Jeff must have been delighted to get one of his favorite dinners again :)

I don't have any blackboards, but I was really considering doing a chalk-board wall but then I changed my mind. I'd love to have a few when I have guests or company, it's very rustic chic = )
