one of my favorite kitchen appliances is the programable coffee machine. i love hearing it gargle and groan in the kitchen while i'm still in my warm and cozy bed, debating over how many times more i can hit the snooze button until i am seriously late for my morning appointment. equally favored is my electric water boiler. it helps me make tea and hot chocolate in no time.
my love for hot drinks and the coziness of holding a mug in my hands (and occasionally to my face if i'm really cold) has inspired this illustration. all the little girl needs now is a mug cozy.
i also love taking my coffee 'to go'. and it somehow always tastes best if my hubby prepares it.
what about you? do you have a favorite hot drink and a ritual that makes it the perfect cup?

well, coffee in the morning with my hubby is definitely my favourite "perfect cup" ritual. i like that your coffee machine can be programmed. our's can't, but i got this idea from a friend the other day, to secretly bring the coffee machine into the bedroom and connect it to a timer (zeitschaltuhr) and than use that as an alarm clock one saturday morning. isn't that perfect? i'll have to surprise my hubby with that sometime soon!
sylvia, i just mailed you my anwers! i really hope it came out ok! :)
I have to drink decaf, but I like stuff like Starbucks Frappucinos or hot chocolate with marshmallows.
hot chocolate or one of my pseudo coffees i make
I love smelling coffee but can't drink it... But since I work in a tea company I have lots of teas in every shape and colour ;) (Do you say it like that in english as well??)
And of course i love hot chocolate. Every morning I have to wait at the bus stop at "Elbgaustrasse". And since about two years now there is a very cheap bakery. And they have a surprisingly delicious hot chocolate for € 0,99! You can imaginge that always if there is enough time for the bus to come, I go in there and buy a hot chocolate... :)
hmm...everybody's drinks sound delicious... (guess what i'm off to in about a minute)
@ anja: i wish that bakery with the hot chocolate had been around when i lived there. i'm sure we would've met there dozens of times :)
yes, but it is not that cozy in there. it is really cheap with self service. it is one of these bakerys that make other ones crash... i just buy my chocolate there because it is right beside the bus stop...
@anja: i'm not sure if you're still following this conversation, but you're right, it did make a cute little bakery from across the street crash, the one i always bought rolls in when i went for breakfast at my grandmother's. now i have to go to that cheap bakery and have a bad conscience. well, at least i'll try their hot chocolate next time...
@Simona: when the 2 of you were pretty young - but no way babies anymore - you had your Saturday-morning-bottle of hot chocolate while snugging in bed together. Although that's past...... it's still my favorite memory of hot drinks in the morning!!
