in a post last week we where looking for some winter decoration ideas that are not strictly holiday related. here we go with the first round: simply snowflakes!
i love winter decorations - most of all, i like to add a little sparkle with "handmade" snow inside the house even if we're still waiting for the real one to come down outside. here are some online finds i came across over the years for you to add that bit of wintery flair inside your home.
i like how the supplies for this garland are always on hand - everybody has some newspaper or other old paper flying around the house...
using cupcake liners to make snowflakes is another creative idea and perfect for little hands.
but this particular one is definitely one of my faves. how cool is the idea to use dental floss? there are some great "how-to" and example photos in that post as well. i made my own snowstorm for our bedroom window, it was kind of hard to photograph though. the snow we had just melted a few days ago so while we are waiting for our next share i created a dreamy, wintery look inside the house. (see the photos at the beginning of this post).

This looks nice! And it still lets all the light in.
very cute :)
I love your Blog!!! :) it's like sitting down and having a long chat with you. Just had a cup of tea in bed while reading your Blog. Now it's time to hit the hay - will have sweet dreams of artsy ants and snowstorms :)
