for the love of vintage :: the fisher price playhose

as longtime readers might have noticed, our mum loves (or rather, loved) to keep things. mostly baby clothes (remember the airmail overalls? and the yellow longies of course. i still have some outfits up my sleeve i'll share within the next months. there was also the retro crochet magazine...) trips to the attic are always an adventure. there was one piece that for many years we thought was lost (as we handed most things down to be worn/played with by other children) but then it re-appeared, just in time as it turns out, since the little man is very much into creative role playing...

the fisher price playhouse. who else is filled with nostalgia and childhood memories?

it feels like yesterday that we rang the bell, opened and closed the garage, cooked in the kitchen. it really has signs of PLAY all over it (hello pencil drawings on the wall!) but the fact that this house as been played with for more than 30 years speaks for itself, i think!

the little people are missing by now, but we don't mind a bit. simona and i did TONS of mix and match with all kinds of toys and toy brands as kids, and this house is perfect for our little playmobil family and their 3 horses!

happy monday!

My parents still have my old FP house, barn and school. I loved playing with them. They also have the record player. Did you have that one with the multi-colored plastic discs. Now my kiddos play with these toys whenever we visit.

Can't wait to play with him again with this house. I have some neat videos of last summer when we got it from the attic for him. I'm glad he loves it as much as we did!

So great! We had a similar Fisher Price house! Hmm, I bet my mom still has it tucked away somewhere...

Yay for old toys. My parents kept a lot of our toys too. Every time my little man visits with them a new (to him) toy appears.

Oh this is wonderful! My parents have the old Fisher Price farm, and last time Aveline and I visited they brought it out for her. There was something really special about watching her play with something I'd enjoyed at her age.

I love the Playmobil people. You'd never know they didn't belong!

So I am so incredibly behind on blog reading right now! But I had to comment on this one because I actually had that same house when I was little...and several other "little people" toys. I LOVED them. It was really great that my mom kept them and my boys (now 19 & 17) played with them as well.
