sylvia:
(all photos by spencer, my 3yo)
i finally finished the sweater i have been working on for the last couple of months (just checked on ravelry, i started on august 1 last year...) i didn't go for the puffed sleeves, but really like how they turned out all the same. and of course, i am in love with the orange trim. i finished the collar a few rounds before then what the pattern called for, and i'm glad i did. now, the sweater is still missing the front pocket, which will ultimately make it into a gardening and gathering sweater... but as long as i'm still in my urban surroundings, potting on a balcony, i'll simply call it the spring café sweater :)
all details about the yarn and pattern on my ravelry project page.
and simona, any progress on your projects??
simona:
the sweater is lovely!! you really sped up toward the end of making it!
yes, i made a little bit of progress. my crochet panda is starting to take on shape. i even had something on hand to fill the head with since some years ago i bought pillows for guests and was suckered into buying "jumbo" size, thinking i'd do my guests a favor. i tried out how comfy they'd be when we got home, and realized that "jumbo" pillows are very unergonomic and distort your neck position. so what i did was open up the seam, take out at least a third of the filling, and sewed it back together. and when it comes to anything art or craft related i'm somewhat of a horder, this means i still had the fill material in a closet. i love when that happens!
we're joining ginny again this week for yarn along. what are you
knitting and reading?

haha, i love the story how you got to your filling, Simona! looking forward to seeing the finished panda!
Sylvia, the sweater looks amazing on you, but then you are beautiful anyway. I too love the orange trim, it really adds a special touch.
Simona,
great panda body. Your skills as a crocheter have grown so fast, you are amazing.
sylvia: you look beautiful!!! Love the sweater and the photo poses :)
simona: before I read your post I thought that it looked like a panda...I was right! Lovely :)
The sweater is beautiful and so is the panda head...
Sylvia - love, love, love your sweater. I have something similar on my list. Oh the never ending list!
Simona - what a fantastic repurposing. and that little panda is definitely taking shape.
What a great little photographer - and a great sweater too! Love the orange trim popping!
Sylvia - your sweater is just lovely. I think the orange makes it really pop. I wish I was a confident knitter.
Simona - your panda is looking adorable and such a great shape. Sometimes my amigurumi start off looking a bit more oval as my tension is tight but your tension looks perfect.
As for yarn projects, I have a ripple blanket that I have started crocheting, I have one more boot cuff to make and a tunic that I started knitting for Miss Lana is staring at me from my craft cupboard...always lots on the go xxx
SO cute! i love these sisterly posts. sylvia you are adorable, your sweater too, it fits perfectly, love it! love the photos too, you may have a budding photographer there :)
