panda drawing and flower doodles

unexpectedly, my plans for yesterday fell through and i allowed myself to use that time to draw a bit. this first illustration i made is of a sad little panda that could use a hug. i made it for a "get well soon" card for a friend. instead of being sad i think he (or she) could also be a tired little panda, couldn't he?

the second thing i drew were some folksy flower doodles. it's my second set of flowers in this style, you can see the first set of artsy flowers here.

the third drawing i made i'll have to withhold from you for today since it's supposed to be a surprise for sylvia. so far it's just black outlines and i want to color it before i'll present it to her and you as well. all i'll say for now is: it includes some of sylvia's favorite animals...

what would you spend your free day with if your plans fell through (as mine did yesterday)?

I think 'tired' when I see the panda Simona. It would make an adorable picture hanging in a nursery.
When my plans fall through I either knit or cook, two of my favorite things to do right now.
Have a great Thursday.

i'd knit, sew and bake something... and sit in the sun if it was shining... all of this (most of all a free day) seems like a faraway dream to me right now though! i'll hope to get a big knitting project done for myself when we're in denmark together!!

Ah, delightful! I feel a bit like that panda today -- well, the tired part, not the sad part. :) So cute! And I love the light ink on the dark paper. The flowers remind me of henna designs!

Super cute panda! I'd go for a solo hike with my camera.

Love the panda. That is a tough one, but I think I would be outdoors in nature, hiking, breathing and taking it all in.

I too find it hard to imagine an actual free day, as I have constant lists of things to work on, an awful lot of things would have to fall through. And someone added to provide babysitting, hehe. I would paint, though. Get messy with mixed media and ink and paint and photos and canvas. Joy!

I love those flower doodles, I could see them used in all sorts of pattern-y ways :)

Wonder, what makes little pandas warm our hearts? And especially, once you actually saw live ones!
Somehow they belong to my memory of little daughters being so fascinated by the (then) two pandas in the Berlin zoo that we immediately had to go and buy one for each of our sweethearts.....
