life's little lessons

i believe in life-long learning, in using as many channels as possible to gain more insight into the world around us, ourselves and any fields of interest. what amazes me again and again, is how much i personally learn from my husband (and my child of course, but for today i'd like to concentrate on the mr.) in everyday life.

a few weeks ago, my hubby starts vacuuming the apartment,  and the little man wants to help. i ask if he wants to mop the floors. he answers yes, also to my question if i should wet the mop. after i do, he takes the mop and starts crying, because he doesn't want it wet after all. his crying continues, and while i try to explain to him that he asked for a wetted mop and that this is the way it's supposed to be, my husband stops the vacuum-cleaner and asks what the problem is. i tell him. he says to the little man that there's no need to cry over this, takes the mop (it's a child-sized one) and dries it with the blow dryer.

problem solved.

in a moment in which a detail could become a "big deal", he chooses not to see a problem, but to focus on the solution right away. at times, making the relatively small effort of trying to fix it is the quick, uncomplicated and peaceful option.

i try to remember that.

That's the wondeful thing about life, we're All learning every Day :-) He Sound like my husband, hé's always saying to me '"do not focus on the goal, but how you reach it". Have a beautiful Day.

My husband has always been the one to stop the tears faster than me (crying children of course). I think they are good at resolving problems. Great story and now you have a very clean floor!!

God bless our husbands! My husband is so good at solutions too; I also try to keep this in mind but it seems he's much better at it than I! Love this story.
