yes, there's been some knitting going on and i hope to get more done during the next weeks... working on a few stitches and rows throughout the day(s).
i cast on the emma tunic in the smallest size and will make it a little longer for it to fit as a dress. i'm using quince & co.'s osprey for the body and some leftover schachenmayr merino yarn for the trim and collar (i had used the yarn in this project).
also there is only one sleeve to knit of the split pea fisherman's pullover for the little man, which i will share very soon!
as for reading, i'm still into "barnheart" (see sidebar) and still loving it. i'm browsing through "keeping bees" by ashley english (preparing for the future, as my husband calls it). and i decided to pick up some classics again. i have read far too many of the "plays unpleasant" by bernard shaw, that i decided it's about time to turn to the pleasant ones ;)
i love knitting and reading, so i'm participating in ginny's yarn along. what are you knitting and reading?

hy sylvia! ich stricke gerade einen patchwork-poncho, jedes "strickquadrat" hat eine andere farbe und strickmuster. jedoch alles in winterfarben gehalten (petrol, grau, weiß, d.blau, orange...) die häckle ich dann zusammen, mit Naht nach aussen. lg steffi :)

Beautiful knitting Sylvia. I love the stack of books you have. I would love to keep bees,but I'm allergic so my husband says no. We have a friend that shares and a wild hive on the property so it works out. I look forward to seeing your farm one day!:)
Bee keeping..I may have to order that one. It's been on our list for years and then we realized the other day, it's nearly at the top of the list and we don't know anything about raising bees..time to start reading:))

mmmh, that knitting looks very promising. And I am very courious about the bees, how very good to have your own honey.
I should also start reading some classics again but I am afraid as long as I can't knit and read at the same time it will not happen, unless I let them be read to me by audio books... ;-)

I'm glad to hear you are enjoying Barnheart. I started it couple of weeks ago but didn't get very far before I got distracted. Maybe I'll try it again.

As my grandchild no. 2 will be born in June - which will be a girl - I am knitting a tiny summerdress. And at the moment I read the biography of a cellist in England, who used to be in the girls' orchestra at Auschwitz concentration camp. In fact, I appreciate reading biographies, because I would like to try to understand the inner feelings of all kinds of people.
