now i don't have to kick myself anymore

every time i don't plan well enough in advance and i have to go to the store to buy a card for somebody i could totally kick myself in the behind for doing so.

first, i could have made my own. my card could've been handmade, creative, meaningful. but instead, i'm writing somebody a note that is still heartfelt but unfortunately presented on a cheesy commercial greeting card.

second, even if i had not made one myself but if i had given myself a few days in advance i could've bought a special card on etsy and could've felt good about at least supporting the artist community.

so finally today i got around printing my own little supply of greeting cards, scoring and folding them myself. they're all prints of my original artwork, some of them are "from the archives" a.k.a. the ant hill storage chambers. we'll update our shop soon to include some of these cards.

what about you? do you make your own cards at all times or do you also sometimes have to - at the last minute - run to the store?

i actually just faved some cards on etsy yesterday that i want to get when my budget is back to normal. i always like to have some pretty cards on hand. usually i quickly craft one myself.

of course, i'm in love with your cards, especially the polar bear and the swinging girl!!!

They look fantastic :) I sometimes purchase quirky cards from etsy or eclectic shops I find in real life, but in a rush I use one of my own cards I have in stock. Now with Curious Bazaar I have another person's cards to choose from as well, without leaving the house or making any ;) If it's from the kids I often get them to help make a new one though. Love the clouds and polar bear designs, I'm in a blue mood...
