a scalloped scarf again and some rhythm of family
i'm joining Ginny today. In her words:
Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs.
In the evenings, I'm reading paragraphs or pages (depending on my grade of tiredness) of Amanda Soule's new book, The Rhythm of Family. I love it very much, it's definitely my favourite of all her books and I also love the idea of re-reading passages of whatever month we are having.
After making one for simona, I am giving the scalloped spring scarf a second try, this time sticking to the pattern. I am also working on the sleeves of my Shalom - decided I want them long after all...
What are you reading/knitting?

I've read so many wonderful things about the Soules' book since starting my blog a few weeks ago (having never ever heard of them before) - your photo is the final straw - I'm going to have to see if I can get a hold of a copy.
Nice still life going on there ;)
Very pretty yarn you are using for your scarf Sylvia. I'm glad you are enjoying the book. xx
oh yes i forgot to mention, this yarn is absolutely gorgeous, it's Lorna's Laces Honor. it's a dream to work with!
I have the shalom bookmarked to try (among hundreds of other patterns!). That yarn is wonderfully variegated. What is it?
I agree with the shalom having long sleeves. I would make it that way too. It looks beautiful!
Beautiful yarn....

The shalom is lovely with longer sleeves. So glad to hear you are enjoying the Soule's book! I'm very much looking forward to reading it.
love the light in this photo!
I've been wanting to read that book. It looks so good! Beautiful photograph!
Oh, I love grays and blues... Looks like this will be a very pretty scarf. The flower accenting the background is a nice addition to the photo.
very pretty! I love the colours you have chosen!
such pretty wool! your scarf will be so lovely.
i have the book, too, and i love it. full of projects and thoughts about the season - great inspirations (i sort of cheated and made the handkerchiefs already ...)
I have that book on hold from the library and an anxious for my turn!
Look forward to seeing more of that knitting, the colours are gorgeous.
Enjoy the reading.
