"last moment of today" - purple sky painting
to me, one of the most beautiful sunset or sunrise scenes are when there is just a sliver of light shining through dark clouds. my idea behind this painting was to capture the stark contrast between light and dark that is only to be admired for a few moments in nature before the beautiful sight disappears.

i think i've never seen enough sunrises to really love them. of course i love sunsets, but something has me thinking, now that the days get shorter again.. (insider, remember how papa always used to point it out??) i should try to see the sun rise more often.

I agree to sylvia, unfortunately I haven't seen much sunrises really being on the beach or something. Yust in winter sitting in the train on my way to work... . I always want to on weekends but am too lazy to stand up early :D

I love sunsets at the seaside, because there you can admire them longest. Sunrises are beautiful, too, and I used to take photos of them from our bathroom-window: all shades of pink in the sky. I'm always very much impressed with the breathtaking beauty in nature!
