weekend sewing

amidst all the knitting i've been doing in the last weeks i at last at last unpacked my sewing machine for a few hours to make something with fabric for a change...

this little skirt for my friend's bubba was made from a t-shirt leftover from the clothes swap. i liked the design so much so i just cut the body of the shirt off and created a waist band. i then added the "j" just to personalize it a little more.

on to pants, my favourite thing to sew (if i had a girl, i'm sure it would be skirts) for kids. the cute car fabric is by kokka and i once again got in at my local fabric store frau tulpe. the ribbon on the shorts is by farbenmix. the long pants will have to wait in the closet for a while though, they are a bit too big for my little guy at the moment, maybe they'll fit for our big trip in late summer.

i just loved working with all these different colourful patterns! can't wait to see them on the little persons in my life!

I am not much of a seamstress, but I think I 'might' be able to make a skirt like the one you made. It is just adorable and the wee one here could always use another one.

I am so impressed with your sewing skills.. I've really been wanting to do an A-line dress but I'm still so intimidated.
