color splash - a fabric i couldn't pass on

this lovely fabric was a yard sale find i couldn't pass on. it actually is a chair cover which i have no use for, but i loved the design and colors so much that it needed to be mine. i assumed i'd eventually figure out what i want to do with it.

do you have any ideas what i could make with it? i'm not experienced with sewing but i'm willing to give it a try.

by the way, today is the last chance to participate in our giveaway. the winner will be announced tomorrow!

here are again the main fabric colors as color inspiration. aren't these some bright, happy colors?

I'm not much help in the sewing department, but I am loving the colors and the print in the fabric. Is there enough that you could make throw pillows?

If you're new to sewing, I'd start with a pillow cover. You could use a solid colour on the back if you don't have enough fabric.

wow, great ideas out there already. What about a combination of several? Pillow covers are easy, I could help you but I'm sure you'll manage. I love Amanda's idea with the solid colour on the back. And an inlay for a bread basket as well as place-mats all matching sounds perfect to me!

I don't sew either, but when I see fabric like that, I wish I was! I love the color combination. I was thinking throw pillow as well. Or what about a little decorative cloth for a side table? Or a headband?

great ideas, girls! thanks! i think i'm inspired to use this fabric to create a whole theme, like for the kitchen.
if you have any more ideas: just keep them coming! :)

Throw pillows or it would be a cute apron.

hey, i LOVE the apron idea! it has such cute ruffles already!

I thought of a skirt, too, but it might be too much cutting. The ruffles seem to give a lot of length to the material, which might be enough for a long middle-cloth for the dining table as well as place mats. Looking forward to see photos of your end-procuct/s!
