knitting my beach evening sweater
the knitting bug has totally caught me. shortly after finishing my early bird winter, i started knitting another sweater for me. the yarn is really chunky, very soft and i love the different shades of mainly deep blue in it! i am dreaming of wearing it on chilly evenings at the beach (of which i hope there will be many (beach evenings, not necessarily chilly...) this year, be it the elbe or the baltic sea).
first, i wanted to follow the pattern by jane richmond for the oatmeal pullover. but, simple as it is, as a relative beginner i still found it a bit hard to follow, especially as i'm not used to reading knitting patterns in english. so i decided to make my own pattern, starting at the bottom of the pullover and knitting in a round. i'm hoping the sweater will end up looking like the oatmeal pullover. well, we'll see. i'll keep you posted :)

love the color and the subtle pattern! i'm sure it will be perfect for (chilly) beach evenings!
omg what i long for the spring and the summer now! i want summerwarm skin, sand beneath my feet and striking beautiful sunsets!
Yeah, that's a really cute sweater! I like the colors you chose for yours. Can't wait to see the finished results!
P.S. If you can knit a sweater, you're way past the beginner stage in my opinion! :)
I agree with Tiffany! After you have competed several knitted items and they have been put to use by several persons you definitely made it at least one step up from a beginner! I never got past knitting something that ended up looking like an ugly pot holder (meant to become a sweater but I gave up). I don't think I can even call myself a beginner yet... :(
Never mind if it doesn't look exactly as in the pattern's description. This is YOUR sweater - and whatever it will become in the end: YOU yourself made it to be perfect in your own way.
