winter landscape painting & a broken furnace

It's hard to believe, but in the coldest days of the year our air conditioning furnace decides to break and blow only cold air. I'm sitting here with 5 layers on, and a hat, an ancient space heater doing it's very best, and the fire place burning. The hot cup of tea beside me helps, I love picking it up with both hands.

We called a repair guy who promised he'd show up by the end of the day. I know he's not coming anymore. It's going on 7 o'clock and I'm sure he's either nice and cozy at home or feeling fuzzy in his heated truck. Perhaps I should go for a ride myself. It'll be warm in the car in minutes!

When I was out driving today I drove by many scenes that reminded me of this picture I painted while at art school. At least the half frozen water and the colors in the sky did since we don't have any snow.

What are your favorite ways of keeping warm in winter?

We're glad the heater works again!
Well, here is my way of keeping warm: Put a hot-water-bottle under your feet and drink a nice cup of tea with rum - or else mulled wine.
