yarn along :: distractions

nothing much has changed on the knitting front. i am of course still working on my color affection shawl and about halfway into the short rows using my third color and i like the results. the only think i am slightly worried about is that the edging might be a bit too tight. i have tried to work with slipping the first stitch but now that there is a color change in every row this is hard to do. how have you successful color affection knitters handled this?

i needed some knitting distraction though. i lose interest in a project if i see too much of it, so i started a wurm hat for my hubby. he is not a hat-wearer, but has always wanted a hat in this style. as we do get some very cold days here in winter i thought it would be nice if he had an extra warm hat, even if he doesn't wear it much.

that mustard colored yarn in the background is for me! i want to cast on a hat as well, at the moment i'm contemplating this one.

on my night stand is still Wild Swans, but i have been re-reading chapters in Heaven on Earth. i had skipped the chapter on outside play when i first read the book, simply because we didn't have an outside play space back then. i'm also struggling a bit with getting back into a daily rhythm of working, playing and learning so i have been browsing this book for inspiration.

and now it's your turn! what are you knitting and reading?? joining ginny's yarn along.

I love that mustard coloured yarn. And Heaven on Earth is a favourite around here :)

Have a great day!

when I made that shawl, that was one of my concerns as well. Blocking took away that fear :) So I think you will be fine!!

I bet once you cast off Wurm for your husband he will love wearing it, great color and it's made with love so how could he not wear it all the time?

The shawl is coming along nicely, can't wait to see it finished! And then the hats, those will be fun too!
