the reasons i decided to sketch these pictures

here are some more pages of my old rediscovered sketchbook i introduced in a recent post. the first two drawings are based on pictures i had found in a fashion catalog.

what got me interested in the one on the top was the intriguing angle and lighting the picture was taken in, and i was curious to see if i'd be able to capture these aspects in a pencil sketch.

the challenge i saw in the picture below was in the folds. previous to drawing this specific one i had not really tried out drawing many clothes with folds yet.

in this last picture, a very small drawing actually, i was focusing on making the hair look fluffy and poofy like a soft mane. you know, the kind of hair you just want to touch because you know it's so soft and fun to play with.

this is it for today. but if you'd like to explore some more, you're welcome to take a look around the chambers and galleries of our ant hill!

Fascinating sketches. Love the first one, but you mastered all the different challenges in the pictures excellently. Thank you for sharing them!
