summer reading and autumn knitting

i'm reading book #5 in my summer reading program for adults (the 4th was a cookbook about seasonal and regional cooking... aaand, i've peeked into The Everlasting Meal as well, can't wait to start that one!) i've been reading in Everyday Blessings probably for almost a year now, but the chapters i have now reached are more practical (the first are quite philosophical, which is good, but they took me a while to get through) so i am hoping to finish this book by the end of the month, which is also when the program ends.

i have cast on the Global Warming sweater in a dark grey yarn with a bright orange trim. i am planning on making it longsleeved, and maybe make straight sleeves instead of puffed ones. this sweater will take me a while, i think, which is not due to the pattern, but the amount of knitting i get done these days.... let's say i consider a round a day a success. in the evenings when everything's quiet i'm just too tired to pick up my needles. but it's a phase, and i'm trying to savour this tiring, intense and wild, yet so joy-filled time as good as i can!

i'm joining ginny's yarn along.
what are you knitting and reading? just to let you know i read most of the posts in the linkup, it's just that i only have one free hand most of the time, which makes writing comments a bit tedious, but i do enjoy checking on your projects and books!

Great colors for a sweater Sylvia and it will look so pretty on you.
I think it's great that you realize this is just a busy stage in your life, so many mothers don't. I remember those days and while they were tiring, they really were the best. Enjoy those little ones, it goes by way too fast.

Love the colors you paired together! It reminds me of fall which I cannot wait to arrive. It's been hot here. You just keep snuggling that baby, before you know it you will be chasing her :)

Aww Autumn knitting - I'm such a sucker for anything to do with Autumn and I've been dreaming about it's arrival for so long that I'm in disbelief that it's almost here!

I love your colour choices for the sweater and it wont matter that it goes slow as you've started nice and early.

I'm intrigued about the everlasting meal - so many people are reading it at the moment.

Love the colours you are using. We have had a little shift in weather here the last few days and it is suppose to get even cooler later this week...it has me wishing for fall. I love the fall season - sweaters, scarves, sitting fireside, and so on.

Enjoy the time with your little ones, the knitting and pretty much everything else will be there waiting for you when there is time...at least that is my philosophy :)

What a lovely pattern. For the second time today, I have earmarked something I'll want to knit for myself.. as soon as I fit into 'regular' clothes again!
