a little bit of nesting: her corner

having a "complete" kids room already, i wanted to add just a few elements to accommodate everything that a new baby needs, while seeing to it that her older brother still has his space. so we moved the changing table (handmade by my father) to the other side of the room. i will share what became of the "new" corner in a few days. i threw out an old couch that nobody was sitting on anyway, and so now we have one side of the room with all "her stuff".
the garland i made while i was pregnant with spencer, and the two mixed media pieces are also by me, several years old already. one features a photo of my grandmother as a young girl. the mobile is from ghana, a yard sale find (in the states) by simona!

i'm especially proud of this little cupboard, which used to be the lower part of my old kitchen cupboard. i painted it in a pale green and bought some new knobs. a vintage children's suitcase, some baskets and the hanging storage thingy from ikea hold everything we need at the moment.  the toys and little shelf to the left of the cupboard might have to move into another part of the room at some point to make room for a second bed, but for now she will sleep with us.

yes, there are quite a few owls in that corner, i thought i might just go with it, although it wasn't really planned... the lunchbox/bag is from skiphop, the suitcase with the dots from tiger.

and i added a few new prints to the one we had already. the one on the right is from lovely sweet william, then there are two from belle & boo and the one with the red umbrella is from curious bazaar. the embroidery hoop is just some random stitching i did one night :))

Gorgeous :)
We have a favourite Belle & Boo print in the boys room, boys dressed up as pirates in a tree with a boat - perfect!

I'm catching up with your nesting posts. - This part of the room is lovely too. I really like it when a piece of furniture gets fixed/changed/reused. Just a new coat of paint and a few knobs really makes the bureau nice.

I also must look into getting some hanging storage thingies too! :)

Wonderful... so whimsical! I have bookmarked the print pages... I need need need to get some things on the walls here. Don't want to go four years like we did at the other place!
