monday color splash: fiery calla lilies

wow, it's monday again. where in the world did the weekend go? was yours busy as well? mine was, but a good kind of busy: i learned good things, spent time with good friends, ate good food. can't ask for more!

so let's start off the new week with some art inspiration:

if i paint flowers i like to give them a new perspective, strong or unusual colors, off-centered composition, etc. to give the painting an interesting twist.

when i came up with the details of how i'd like to complete the calla lily painting i was going for the bright, fiery orange variety that my sister sylvia had in her wedding.

what do you enjoy to start off your week? and do you have some fun plans?

Your flowers are lovely. I am working on a picture of our day lillies that just bloomed. Painting just a little each night so it is slow going, but enjoyable.

Today I will go to the choir that I go to since two weeks now!
It makes me happy every monday now! As you know I sang in the school choir all schooltime so I enjoy it very much now finally singing again!

Feeling bad for mondays my new monday evening activity is now a shining light after finishing work :)

I always sleep in on Sunday, so Monday always requires a big pot of coffee. I water the house plants after breakfast, and the girls sing to them to have a good week. They think plants grow stronger with song. Cute. Lovely painting!

@ Tracey: I'd love to see your painting when it's done!

@ Anja: I'm happy you found a new activity to brighten up your Mondays!

@ Baby By The Sea: How adorable of your girls to sing to the plants! I'm sure that makes your day.

Ooh, I love this painting Simona. The colours are stunning, and lillies are one of my favourite flowers - just gorgeous! My Monday usually starts off with getting the house feeling under control again, after a weekend with everyone home :-P

I love those callas, didn't know how beautiful they look, until Sylvia chose them for her wedding. Oma looks at "your" callas every day!
And my Mondays start with concentrating on spiritual things, before our sweetheart Spencer comes to visit.
