a sisterly yarn along: january needlework and reading

sylvia:

i had started reading "The Cassoulet Saved Our Marriage" over the holidays... i love reading about family, and i love reading about food, and this book combines both. i love that these are essays so whenever i have a few minutes, i can read something and actually finish reading it before the next task of the day calls me.

also on the photo are my growing color affection shawl and my almost finished fresco simply slouchy hat, which i actually finished yesterday evening so i will post about it soon!

simona:

hey, sylvia, that's neat the hat is finished! can't wait to see it. too bad you weren't able to finish it in time for your weekend trip, but you'll have plenty of opportunity to wear it before summer weather comes around over in germany!

maybe this looks like i'm still with last week's project, but this is actually a new one. the small fingerless mitts i made are already with their new owner and they fit perfectly around my little friend's wrists.
the ones i'm working on now are adult size again, and they are to match the scarf i made for my friend last year. she's the one that gave me this yarn to begin with, so i though it would be neat if she had matching mitts to make it a set.

joining ginny's yarn along again this week. do share, what are you knitting and reading?

Love that happy green and the stripes of your bag, Simona!

Sylvia, your shawl looks amazing!!! I've got to get a new photo of mine up but....it's been so ignored. :( Your book sounds an awful lot like mine - I'll have to search it out at the library!
