the hat and the cat

on friday i started working on a new hat pattern with shell stitches and made satisfying progress with it, but now i'm stalling since i can't decide if i should introduce a new color to finish it off. i think i will.

then on saturday i finally finished the red cap i made for a little friend, she had wished for a red hat with white buttons.

when i tried to photograph it our cat got in the way, pretty funny. all this cat business is still new to me since we just adopted her a bit over a week ago. we decided to rename her, now she's called tybee, as in the island. actually, this was the name that me and hubby had selected and proposed for our niece, but since it was a runner-up but wasn't in the final selection we decided to use it for "our" baby.

tybee loves to check out what i do and walk right over my keyboard when i'm typing (which at the same time means passing right between my face and the screen). here in the picture above she is critiquing my sketches. and although i risk appearing as the crazy cat lady, here is one more picture of her since you didn't get to see her cute face yet :)

joining with ginny's yarn along. are you also working on any yarn projects?

Tybee is the most gorgeous name. Now that we didn't end up choosing it for the Junebug, I think it's more than appropriate that another family member receives it!!

Love the hats and that is a great name for your cat. Do you go to Tybee often? It is only about 1 1/2 hours from me.

We can never be too crazy over our cats. And I love the photo of yours admiring your sketched snowman! Great hats! I need to be wearing them as we have cold and snow here in Holland.

Hugs from Holland ~

I'll admit I'm not much of cat person but Tybee is beautiful. :)
I love that red cap! The white button is the perfect finishing touch.

Oh how I miss having cats! (Sweet Husband is deathly allergic, but before that I've always had one.) What a sweetie!

Tybee is a cute name for a cute cat. But watch out she won't spoil any of your beatiful works. Would be the greatest shame ever!!!
