to travel is to live

“To move, to breathe, to fly, to float,
To gain all while you give,
To roam the roads of lands remote,
To travel is to live.”
― Hans Christian Andersen, The Fairy Tale of My Life: An Autobiography

good morning! i just wanted to quickly share some photos i took during the last days, as we've been quite absent in this space. we have and still are enjoying a family getaway in a log cabin at the seaside in denmark, near the birthtown of Hans Christian Andersen.
sometimes i find myself thinking that it doesn't feel like proper traveling, as it's just a three hour drive from our home in northern germany. but waking up in a different place to different sounds, sights and smells has something magical all the same. and within this magic, the things that don't change - a baby that needs to be nursed, the little man doing his car and truck noises, and that welcome hot cup of coffee in the morning - are all the more comforting.
