natural dining table arrangement brings home to our home

since i don't have a designated craft room (i use the sun room which is also our dining room) i can't always leave all my art supplies out. especially the paint stuff is way too messy and takes up too much space on a day that we're having people over for dinner, for example.

when i get the table cleared off my art supplies i can put the green table runner across that my mom gave me. onto the runner goes a vase holding an arrangement with natural elements that i put together to remind me of the places our family calls home. the birch branches are from connecticut, which is my hubby's home. they are also typical for northern germany, which is my home. the cotton bolls stand for our other home, georgia, the place we live in now.

using the multifunction sun-room as art or craft room results in there being days in which i would love to paint, but for practical reasons i need to find another creative outlet. this is when i do wire art or draw, sketch, doodle.
what is your creative outlet when you have just a little time or space?

Simona, the old proverb always comes true: "Home is, where the heart is."
Sometimes, we'd have to divide our heart, as it seems. But with that simple arrangement you've combined it all.

Nice! Although I don't work with paints or crafting materials, I do wish I had a place to write that was set off from the rest of the chaos that is our home, away from my wild little boys, particularly.

I do all of my knitting in the family room, I have carved two corners with my fiber and I have a lovely huge project bag that looks great by the side of the sofa. Sometimes it's fun to be where all the action is.

This is beautiful -- not only in and of itself, but also for what it represents. Lovely!!
