how does summer look and feel like?

while browsing through some artwork i kept from my school days, i discovered this little painting. i used gouache paints for it.

the task was to use a color palette typical for each of the four seasons and to make one painting per season. this one here is my "summer" painting (with the saturated colors as we typically find them in summer). i'm sure you could've told which season is portrayed here without me giving it away, right?

the scene i came up with that would depict "summer" to me is of a warm, quiet, peaceful evening–perhaps in august–with laundry drying in the warm breeze. this is how i remember summers to be like, growing up.

does this also remind you of summer?
what would you paint if you were to portray what a typical summer day feels like to you?

It does look like summer. I think my painting would be of water and boats because that is what my summer days are filled with.

This is gorgeous! You know, it could also be an Indian summer kind of picture...

sitting on the terrace with a glass of alsterwasser in my hand, looking at the blue sky above me, my feet on the stones warmed by the day's sun... my perfect summer evening!!

Definitely looks like summer! Mine would be sand and surf because that is what my summer days were filled with as a child.
