basil and fruit smoothie

it was saturday evening and that is also how the cupboards at the supermarket looked like. i had planned on buying strawberries and spinach, but both were out. i so wanted to make a smoothie though so when we arrived back home, i just grabbed what we had. only after making the smoothie did i google it and found out basil in drinks is not that uncommon. here are my ingredients, the quantity made 2 medium-sized smoothies:

- 1/2 banana
- 2 small pears (without skin and pips)
- a handfull of cranberries
- 2 tablespoons honey
- a handfull of basil leaves
- 2 cups of water

blend all ingredients and put in the fridge for a while before serving! the hint of basil in the drink is delicious. i can't wait to try out more combinations.

have you ever tried something like this or what is your favourite homemade smoothie?
