weekending

i thought i might join the lovely amanda once again, just to remember and to make a mark of the weekend that has been.

friday was without a doubt one of the saddest days of my life. we said goodbye to our nephew and cousin, whom we lost a couple of weeks ago, at only two months. we need to move on, and will. but feelings of loss and emptiness have lurked within moments of joy and beauty this weekend.

both saturday and friday the weather was exceptionally beautiful, with temperatures almost feeling like summer.

on saturday, after a small meet-up with some neighbours on the playground infront of our house, we left for a nature protection area in the south of Hamburg, also known as the "black hills". the fall foliage this year has been breath-taking, to me the most beautiful autumn i have ever experienced.

this is where the above photos where taken. from the spot under the birch tree, i took the first photo with this stunning view. it was simply amazing. i felt so close to my creator i almost cried.

today there will be more family time, and a bit of organizing for the week to come.

how was your weekend?

You look great in the photo and I love the fall back drop!

Babywearing really suits you Sylvia. I am so sorry to hear
the news of your nephew passing, death is hard no matter what age, but I think with a child it is even worse. I will be praying for you and your family.
