exploring our discovery

yesterday we took a day trip to eufaula, alabama. we had discovered that town on our way to florida last october. after having been told that there's nothing to be seen in alabama we were surprised at how pretty the town and the lake were and immediately decided to come back one day to explore the area a bit. so yesterday we went. it was very pretty and the weather was gorgeous – a summery day with spring blossoms all around.

the house on the photos was one of my favorite houses there. all the color detail and woodwork is lovely, isn't it? i wish they still built houses like this!

Oh, that is a lovey home and I do wish I could see inside.
Have you ever visited The Biltmore in Ashville, NC? It is really worth the trip if you get the chance.

I love gingerbread houses too! They are stunning. It's ashame that kind of craftsmanship has been lost.

Indeed, the house looks very beautiful. Although big columns are quite impressive, it's the intricate makeup of the facade of this house that I really like.
Seems you had a wonderful day there in Alabama.
In fact, I like that place, too. Eufaula is a cute little town. The lake and its surroundings are very inviting.

Love it! I wish I could find houses like this for sale, so I could totally buy it. But, no, everyone wants to hang on to them for a lifetime :(.
