sketches from me for a change

i'm sure you're all enjoying simona's updates on the progress on her "sketch a day" project this year. i'm not really the drawing/illustrating/sketching kind of girl, but i made a few little illustrations at the end of last year, one of which i shared here already. here are two others, one of them actually used to be a header on my old blog...

hanging the laundry outside is something i really really miss during the cold and wet months. i'm so happy we've had a share of summer days where the sun and fresh air is doing it's part in drying our clothes.

oh yes, wouldn't that be lovely? i. just. can't. wait. for. september. to. arrive...!

Your illustration makes me think back to a yardsale treasure I found. It was a really old clothes line machine (made by sears roebuck) for $2. It produced a 5-line retractable clothes line which could dry 2-3 loads of laundry on it. The best part was that when you are done using it, you pull a lever on the side and all five clothes lines retract into the mechanism out of the way. I really miss having a place to set it up so that I could use it again. Maybe I will get it out today!

Sweet sketches. But whose car is leaving there for vacations?
This summer somehow exhausted me - and I really, really look back to those soothing days, reactivating my strength amidst snowcapped mountains, sunshine, a good book, a ball of wool and loving family and friends sharing happy hours in the afternoons and evenings......

I love these sketches! I like hanging clothes outside too. I live in an apartment now but when I have a house I am definitely going to start doing that again :) And I really like your road trip picture! Where are you planning to go?
