hello, sun in my face

friday was just one of these days. a day that did not deserve to be a july day. because it rained and rained and rained all day. and i wondered: what are we doing here? but, it doesn't help to complain. it doesn't change a thing. so, just before i put my little one to bed for a nap, i gathered a canvas and some paints and pens from my art cupboard in his room. and i chose a few lines from a lovely Mary Oliver poem ("Why I Wake Early", you can read the whole poem here). and i let a little bit of sunshine into my day.

a few hours after that, it was still raining. but we got all the rain-gear we have in the house out and went for a bikeride. then we met up with some neighbours and played in the wet sand on the playground and just loved how fast you can go down the slide in rain pants...

oh yes, and when i took photos of the canvas on saturday, i could even capture some "real" sunshine on it!

have a lovely start to the week! (and don't forget our upcycling week is next week!)

One of my favorite poems! I hope you have sunshine in your week, even if it's not from
the sky, but from inside. xx
