painted wedding portrait - the kiss

although we have wonderful wedding pictures, we never made a real album. our photographer was heidi, who is an award winning photographer from connecticut who also is my very much loved sister-in-law (that i regret not staying in contact with much more than i do). i'll introduce her and her work to you in more detail at another time.

since me and my husband both are not fans of displaying photos of ourselves larger than perhaps 4x6 inches or so, i decided to have at least one painted wedding portrait. i practiced on a small canvas, i think it's only about 8x10". don't know when i'll get around doing the "real" one, but for now i hung this one really high up on the sunroom wall. i think the main reason for hanging it up so high is that i realized i'm not comfortable with even a painting of me bigger than 4x6 inches... so if i paint the large portrait, i wonder if i'll ever display it.

the colors look great together up on that wall since the wall is painted in a gray with a hint of violet and the paint i used on the canvas is a colorful range of gray as well. with that i mean not only black and white but also red, blue, and yellow mixed in.
