my first commissioned portrait

unfortunately i only have a bad photo copy of my first commissioned portrait. that was before the time of scanners and digital cameras, you know what i mean...

i'm pretty sure i was 13 when a family friend asked me if i'd like to draw a little girl she knew. after i had finished it i rode my bike to the post office and made a photo copy of it for me to keep. some years later i scanned the copy. then i shrank the file to email it (remember the time when downloading a photo from an email would make the computer smoke and finally crash?). so bear with the low quality of reproduction, this is as good and big as it gets.

i finally got around adding another item to our shop. for the longest time i procrastinated, but now artsy ants is offering custom portraits. many thanks to teresa from peanut whimsy for letting me use her picture in the listing.

we were very excited when one of our lovely blog followers bought the butterfly picture i had listed in the shop last week! thanks so much, it's already on its way across the ocean!
